Common questions

What is StoxHub?
StoxHub is a plain-English stock research tool for everyday investors. It turns live market data, SEC filings, and AI-generated company briefs into a beginner-friendly research surface across US, ASX, and NZX listings. It is educational only — not investment advice.
Is StoxHub free?
Yes — there is a free tier that includes the market dashboard, search, individual stock pages, news, and the basic screener. Paid Pro and Max tiers add the Research thesis tool, full screener metrics, and higher AI quotas.
Does StoxHub cover the ASX and NZX?
Yes. Australian Securities Exchange tickers (with the .AX suffix) and New Zealand Exchange tickers (.NZ suffix) are supported alongside US listings. Search supports company names — typing 'Xero' resolves to XRO.AX, 'Fisher Paykel' resolves to FPH.NZ.
How does the AI stock brief work?
The AI brief is a five-sentence plain-English summary of what a company does, how it makes money, and what is moving the price right now. It is grounded in SEC filings and recent news, not generated from scratch. AI summaries can still be wrong — verify against primary sources.
Is StoxHub investment advice?
No. StoxHub is an information and educational research tool. Nothing on the site is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice, an offer or solicitation, or a personal recommendation. Always do your own research and consult a licensed adviser before making investment decisions.
How does the stock screener work?
The screener lets you drag sliders for the factors you care about — growth, dividends, low volatility, profitability — and it ranks the universe of about 3,500 listed companies in real time. Filters cover sector, market-cap bucket, and exchange (US, AU, NZ).
Where does StoxHub get its data?
Quotes, fundamentals, candles, profiles, and earnings come from Yahoo Finance. Company news and peer lists come from Finnhub. Broader news comes from Marketaux and NewsAPI. Primary filings come from SEC EDGAR. Quotes are typically 15-minute delayed.
What is the Research thesis tool?
It is an AI thematic exploration tool. You ask an open-ended question — 'who benefits from on-shoring semiconductors?' — and get back lists of public companies the model associates with the topic, with confidence bands and citations to filings, news, and Wikipedia. It is exploratory, not a buy or sell recommendation.
